11 months

Today marks 11 MONTHS of being Mom to the sweetest boy.

11 MONTHS! That is ALMOST ONE YEAR OLD. Whoa.

I am proud to announce you finally sleep through the night (My glass is currently raised). Eleven hours of beautiful, glorious sleep. 7:45 - 6:45ish is your jam.

I am sad to announce nursing is almost over. I'm a big fan of mama's breastfeeding their babies. My personal goal for both my babies was 12 months...almost got there with Jackson, but due to a little surprise trip to Paris (!!!) we are stopping at 11 months. Right now I'm only nursing once in the morning right when Jackson wakes up, and it just happens to be my favorite time of the day. Probably because I know there are only a couple more days left of this amazing bonding experience. There's just nothing like it.

Other fun news:
Jackson is on the verge of walking. He gets around very well. Any day now and he will be getting around on his own two chubby feet.

There is not a food that our boy doesn't like yet. Mushrooms, asparagus, zucchini, berries, beans, burgers, eggs, anything....he will eat it all. We have yet to fill up this kid, we just have to cut him off. Not once has he turned down food. Every single time I open the fridge, Jackson says "Boo-bah" for blueberry (his favorite food). Every. single. time. This family alone could probably support the blueberry farmers of the world. The amount of money we spend on berries is ridic. Can't even imagine how much he will eat as a teenager.

He waves and says "bye-bye" to everyone.

Favorite songs are Itsy Bitsy and the ABC's. He does motions to itsy bitsy, and says "Buh" after B every time I sing the ABC's. Pretty cute. And after both songs, "Aguh!" (translation: Again!)

He calls Lucca "Gaga"

LOVES DOGS AND BIRDS. He woofs at dogs and puts his hand in the sky when he sees a bird.

Loves hiking in the baby backpack

Wears 18 Months clothes!

Teething like crazy this week. Drool coming out both sides of Jackson's mouth, poor little dude. He still has 5 teeth, three on top, two on bottom, but anxiously waiting for a few more to pop up.

We are celebrating Jackson's 1st birthday at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. How's that for a cool first birthday? Maybe he will be the next Rory, Phil or Tiger godforbid.

I'm so thankful for our strong, healthy, smart and beautiful baby boy. Every day is an adventure. Every day is a blessing. Every day I'm loving that God gave me a boy.

Number Five

Some bunny got a new toof! Tooth #5 came in yesterday, in a big way, which explains a lot. Ha. This new shiner is on the top left, so now there are three big guys up on top and two bunny teeth on the bottom.

Jackson is not as graceful of a teether as Lucca, needless to say we will be very happy when all his chompers are in!

But looking at this sweet face, you would never guess otherwise, right?

9 months!

Yippee! 9 months of enjoying our most healthy, happy & hilarious little guy.

SO much is happening and changing in our day to day as you grow bigger, stronger and more capable of being independent. You are crawling everywhere, and quickly! Lucca is starting to realize her stuff is no longer safe...block towers are getting knocked over left and right, her books are being chewed on, dollies are being smothered, and hair is being pulled. You are exploring your world and loving it. Lucca on the other hand is wondering what in the world happened to our "sweet, tiny baby" as she refers to Jackson.

At your 9 month appointment, you continued to top the charts...at 90% for weight and 95% for length. You are no feather. Our big dude. You will be bigger than your sister in no time. You loved your doctor. Waving and smiling at him the whole time. Then the nurse came in who gave you a shot and your feelings quickly turned to anger. Amazing that you even felt that little poke on your chubby thighs.

You have officially boycotted all pureed baby food. I think it was a taste of Christmas dinner that caused this. You figured out we are eating much better food than your pureed fruits & veggies. This is kind of fun, you are eating a lot of what we are eating. You only have 2 teeth still, but you manage to chew all kinds of food you are offered...broccoli, eggs, spaghetti, pancakes :) If you got to choose, you would live on bananas and sweet potatoes alone. And mommy's milk, of course.

We love loving you. I cannot even imagine if our family was still just 3. Seems so long ago & distant to me. You have completed our family and give us such great joy. It really is amazing, no matter how hard & long & tiring our days can be, your Daddy and I go to bed each night so happy. And thankful. And feeling more blessed each day.

Happy 7 Months to our dude...Jackson Stone. The joy (and sleepless nights) you have added to our lives is endless. You are seriously the happiest guy. You smile at everyone -- making people's days left and right. You laugh at almost anything. We were used to our chick, Lucca, who made us work for her smiles...but not you. You will flash a smile at the drop of a hat, including in the middle of the night when you are SUPPOSED TO BE SLEEPING. But actually, the past few nights, we think we have turned the corner with you. We are heading for the straight and narrow and getting your sleep issues tackled. You've been sleeping SO MUCH BETTER, just had to let you cry it out a bit. Ugh -- mama does not like that.

You are a stud and you are HANDSOME. Truth be told, I get stopped all day long by people telling me how beautiful you are. Happened again today. And this proud mama just soaks it up, agreeing how cute you are.

A day doesn't go by when I don't thank God for my sweet boy. My buddy. LC's best friend and Daddy's BIG DUDE.

Seven months means...

No teeth yet, but working on it.

Eating solids twice a day and still nursing.

You are strong and push yourself up when on your tummy and scoot a bit, but mostly you just roll back over when it's supposed to be tummy time.

You love your mommy. I understand the mama's boy thing now...boy's just have it for their mommies. I walk into the room and you giggle. I walk out of the room and you cry.

You are huge -- wearing mostly 12 months clothes now. We just ordered your next carseat because your shoulders are so broad you barely fit in your infant carrier anymore.

You are "talking" a ton, and your voice is low. I LOVE IT.

You ADORE Lucca. If you cry, I have her sing you a song. You stop crying immediately. If she is in the room when you are eating solids, you won't eat. You just stare and smile at sis. You laugh at everything she does. You think she is the coolest. If you wake up from a nap before Lucca wakes up, you look all around for her. It's so obvious that you wonder where she is. And then when she does wake up, we go into her room and you get soo excited you practially jump out of my arms.

You spend most mornings with Daddy. This is my favorite. When you wake up early, Daddy scoops you up and takes you downstairs to the playroom. I am supposed to be getting my extra half hour of sleep, but sometimes I just lay in my bed listening to you guys having fun -- talking and laughing. Melts my big ol' heart.

We love you buddy. So, so thankful you are ours.

happiest baby on the block

It didn't take reading the book or watching the DVD -- you are just the Happiest Baby on the Block. Also? The most beautiful baby on the block.
We love you baby Jackson Stone.

those eyes.

You are looking at the sweetest little guy on the planet. I now know why everyone says baby boys will melt a mama's heart, because it is happening. Every single day. This boy LOVES his mommy, and what's not to love really? ;)

THREE MONTHS

Little Buddy,

You are THREE MONTHS old. I am trying to soak in all the precious moments of your teeny tiny life, but no matter how much I try to preserve this time, you just keep growing, dang it. Your "newbornness" is over. Long gone is your rad jet black newborn hair. Long gone are your days of sleeping hours and hours and hours on end. Long gone are the days of you chillin out on my forearm while I did household chores (this was your favorite spot to be, both with me and your dad!). You don't fit there anymore. You are so big already!!

Goodbye newborn babe. Enter: 3-6 months clothes, lots of drool, personality, rolling over, tickle spots, laughing, and stopping everyone in their tracks to adore you.

XOXO my dear son,

mama

Best Night yet!

I am most certainly not the mom who is able to loudly boast that my baby has slept through the night since 6 weeks old. No way. Not even close. But last night? We made progress. Only one wake-up...and it was at 3:15! Good job, buddy! We are getting there. I am convinced you will sleep longer when you are able to roll over and can sleep on your tummy. For all your naps we place you on your stomach and you sleep for hours. But at night, we obey, and swaddle you up and lay you on your back.

My theory? It's probably the ugly babies who sleep great. You can't have it all.

;)

7 weeks!

You are 7 weeks old today, bud! How did this happen already?!

What a little love you are. You just light up when your dad and I talk to you. You make us feel pretty good with that sweet smile you give us in return. You've already slept in our bed more than your two-year-old sister ever has. It must be true that parents get more relaxed with the 2nd baby. You're already breaking the rules :)

You like being cuddled, but you are about the noisiest sleeper in the world. Growling, grunting, moaning...just noisy! Mostly, I think it's you trying to break free from your swaddle - which you hate. I haven't given up on it yet, but you spend a good amount of time and energy trying to get out of it. And when you aren't swaddled, you are grunting and growling just trying to get your hands to your mouth. You have been trying sooo hard to get those little fists in that mouth of yours, and your poor face has taken a beating doing so. Hopefully, you don't become a thumb sucker...but that's what you're aiming for. You don't care for the paci, but we keep trying to shove it in. When you move to your own room, I'm sure we will miss all your sounds..

Your sister still LOVES you. Everyone tells us to be thankful for this, and we are. She talks to you throughout the day, telling you when you are bigger you can do fun stuff, like surf, jump, swing, cook, dance and color. You love to watch her run about the house. You listen to every word she says, every song she sings. When she lays on top of you, you don't fuss. When she steps on your arm, you don't cry. You guys are going to be best friends. Unfortunately, I think she wakes you up every single time you try to take a nap ... but that's just how it is right now.

I called the doctor this week about broken blood vessels in your eye. They say it could be from heavy crying, which translates= car rides. You freak out in the car, apparently popping blood vessels. The few times when you don't cry in the car, Lucca gets excited and says, "Brother's not crying!!" Hopefully you grow out of this. Pleeeeease.

You are sweet as can be - our perfect baby boy. You don't look a thing like I imagined you to look like all those months you were growing in my belly. You are stunning. Your cheeks are amazing. This morning you found your toes, and were in awe. Your eyes are changing, from blue to brown we think (...and kinda hope!). It's fun determining who you look like. You look like mommy's baby pictures, but your eyes are turning in to your dad's, and your complexion is definitely your dad's. You and Lucca have similarities, especially the mouth, but it looks like she is our golden child, and you will be our handsome dark haired, dark eyed, olive skinned boy.

Future heartbreaker, and already a stud.
